Born in 1987 and raised in Dortmund (Germany), I have been living in the countryside near Göttingen since 2014 where I work as a carpenter. At the end of 2023 I decided to focus on my artistic work and now use my craftsmanship and artistic experience, as well as my workshop.

One of my main areas of work are sculptures. Wood is the central material of my objects, in which different types of wood and different states of processing are used. In combination with modern materials, a specific aesthetic is created in which the materials sometimes complement and sometimes contrast with each other. The objects designed in this way reveal similarities with everyday objects on the one hand, but also deviate from them on the other, thus revealing the unknown.

Another focus of my work are drawings that concentrate on people, either entirely, sometimes just the head, or just the face. The focus is often not on specific people, but on the depiction of expression and facial expressions, the concrete as well as the indeterminate. The drawings, which oscillate between chaos and definition, are made with charcoal or ink on paper.

The overriding theme of my works is the human being as a social subject and the consequences that arise from the purposes of a society, for example the relationship between people and the environment or the relationships and relations between people.

Geboren 1987 und aufgewachsen in Dortmund (Germany) lebe ich seit 2014 auf dem Land nahe Göttingen wo ich als Zimmerer arbeite. Ende 2023 habe ich mich entschlossen mein künstlerisches Schaffen zu fokussieren und nutze dazu nun meine handwerkliche und künstlerische Erfahrung, sowie meine Werkstatt.

Einer meiner Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind Skulpturen und Plastiken. Darin ist Holz das zentrale Material meiner Objekte, in denen unterschiedliche Holzarten sowie unterschiedliche Bearbeitungszustände Verwendung finden. In Kombination mit modernen Werkstoffen entsteht eine spezifische Ästhetik, in der sich die Materialien mal ergänzen und mal kontrastieren. Die so gestalteten Objekte lassen einerseits Ähnlichkeiten mit Alltäglichem erkennen, weichen andererseits aber auch davon ab und zeigen so Unbekanntes.

Ein weiterer Arbeitsschwerpunkt sind Zeichnungen die sich auf Menschen konzentrieren, ganz, teilweise nur den Kopf, oder nur das Gesicht. Dabei stehen oft nicht bestimmte Menschen, sondern das Abbilden von Ausdruck und Mimik, des Konkretem als auch des Unbestimmtem im Vordergrund. Die so zwischen Chaos und Definiertem changierenden Zeichnungen sind mit Kohle oder Tinte auf Papier gefertigt.

Übergeordnetes Thema meiner Arbeiten ist der Mensch als gesellschaftliches Subjekt sowie die Konsequenzen, die sich aus den Zwecken einer Gesellschaft ergeben, zum Beispiel das Verhältnis von Mensch und Umwelt oder die Beziehungen und die Verhältnisse von Menschen untereinander.
